At the time, Lee released a heartfelt video saying he would “move heaven and earth” to be at the convention in 2016.
On Tuesday, the Calgary Expo announced Lee would be visiting Calgary for the annual convention, which runs April 28 to May 1. He will speak at a panel discussion, and take part in autograph and photo op sessions.
“Stan Lee is one of the most popular and prolific guests we’ve ever had and probably ever will have,” spokesperson Emily Expo said. “We know how much it disappointed him to have to cancel last year.”
This news follows an announcement made by Lee last week that his 2016 Canadian convention appearances will be his last, concluding with an appearance in Toronto in September.

“We’re honoured that he will include Calgary in his plans as he wraps up his convention career in Canada this year,” Expo added.
“We cannot wait to welcome him back to Calgary Expo.”
Lee is the co-creater of Spider-Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Iron Man and X-Men. He is also credited for leading the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to an entertainment authority.
